A puppy is for life, not just for Christmas, so is giving a puppy as a gift ever a good idea, or something to be avoided at all costs? To start with, a dog should NEVER be a surprise present. It is the worst gift ever – a commitment that is going to last for 15 years and cost the recipient thousands of dollars.
If you have already decided to bring a puppy into your family, and want to time it with Christmas to kill two birds with one stone, however, you still need to be very careful about how you go about buying that puppy.
